Easy Labels for Derwent Inktense Blocks

Derwent Inktense Blocks are basically watercolor pencils without the wooden barrel.  It is purely a solid ink block.  It is great for covering large areas.  I rarely use them because I use the pencil form more often.  However, if I could see the colors and numbers more clearly, I would probably use them more.

The numbers are quite small.  Hence, I decided to label each block so that they were easy to find and easy to replace.  Along the way, I discovered that I had a duplicate.  I did not have the #2400 Outliner.  I had a duplicate of #2000 Bark.

I used Artist’s Tape and covered each number and then re-labeled the tape, with the number and name, using a Sharpie.

The tape doesn’t really stick to the block.  It just sticks to itself.  I imagine that if you use your blocks liberally with a lot of wet media, this labeling might not work for you.  Although, another option is to break your block.
