Out of the Abundance of the Heart, the Art Speaks

As a Christian writer and aspiring illustrator, I strive to create stories with artwork that brings glory to God. God is good and so through my relationship with Him, I’ve learned that my work ought to be filled with goodness.

Have you ever noticed that some artists cannot seem to get away from wicked works. They may not realize the magnitude of what they are doing; glorifying evil, but it is the darkness to which they gravitate.

If I had not been saved, not realizing that I needed saving, I would have, certainly and unfortunately, proudly created wicked works too.

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. ~Luke 6:45 KJV

If you are going to create a dark work, it should still glorify God and teach a powerful lesson to lead one back to Christ.  The fear of the Lord is what should be present because it is God who has the power to throw the body and the soul into hell because of the choices that one makes.

(Feb. 1, 2016 Update)  This is my throwback to the Shel Silverstein style.  I’m sure that we all realized as we got older that he was a little creepy.  You can read the poem here.

Our personal artwork is the voice of our heart and it speaks volumes.
